Sweet P examines the script on the ID-style bracelet dangling from my left wrist.
“She can laugh…”
Confusion contorts the child’s face.
She wonders why I need a bracelet to remind myself of this, to remind myself I can laugh.
And then I do laugh, grateful for the child’s innocence. I laugh too, grateful because I can.
